Bernard Cayouette studied singing at the Conservatoire de Musique du Québec in Montréal.
For more than 10 years, he participated in all concerts organized by the Studio de musique ancienne de Montréal and by Viva Voce under the direction of Peter Schubert. He was the soloist at the Opéra de Montréal in Roméo et Juliette (Benvolio) as well as at the OSM (Messe Nelson, Bach’s Magnificat). He takes part in the activities of many high-level variabel-geometry ensembles making Quebec a pioneer in the field of early music. He contributes to this enlightening by participating in the recording of numerous commercial cd’s and concerts broadcast on CBC/Radio-Canada and online.
In addition to lending his voice to the OSM grand choir, he is also member of the OSM Chorus and he regularly takes part in the Festival de Lanaudière. He is proud to have participated throughout the years to numerous productions that have been awarded or nominated for the Opus awards.
