Currently acting as principal tuba for the Orchestre Métropolitain, Alain Cazes has worked with a number of musical organizations all over the world, and under the direction of conductors such as Mehta, Dutoit, Baudo, Foster, Kmura, Veltri and many others. He was also a tuba professor at the Université de Montréal and the Conservatoire de Musique de Montréal. As conductor of the Grande Fanfare classique, he brought together the ensembles of both of these institutions. Co-founder of the Philharmonie des vents du Québec, he is currently a professor at McGill University where, in addition to conducting the wind band, he also teaches chamber music and conducting. In the course of his career he has also undertaken the arrangement of numerous works for wind band as well as other instrumental ensembles. Mr. Cazes is also the director of the C.I.M.E. (Centre international de musique évangélique).
