Lyon (Rhône, France)
Performer

For over thirty years, the Chœurs et Solistes de Lyon — Bernard Tétu have been contributing to the enrichment of musical life in the Rhône-Alpes region, in France and throughout the world, with over fifty concerts every year. The group’s musical activities are closely linked to the personality of its musical director, Bernard Tétu, and to the numerous guest conductors with whom they have had the pleasure to perform. The organization can take on several musical forms: an ensemble of soloists, a chamber choir or a large symphonic choir (in collaboration with the oratorio Choir of Lyon, conducted by Catherine Molmerret). This very flexible configuration, allied with the musical insight of Bernard Tétu, has enabled the groups to perform a large variety of repertoires and musical forms: rare works from the French 19th and 20th Century repertoire, major works from the romantic period and programs that blend together premiere performances of contemporary music and works from the classical repertoire, as well as staged musical performances. The Chœurs et Solistes de Lyon — Bernard Tétu work in close partnership with the Lyon National orchestra and with a wide range of cultural institutions in Lyon and the Rhône-Alpes region, bringing their talents to major festivals and concert halls. Each season over 25,000 music lovers attend their concerts, not to speak of their numerous video and audio recordings (Universal, EMI, Harmonia Mundi…). Bernard Tétu and his ensemble have received the Academy of Fine Arts Award at the Institut de France.
