Works by Joachim and Tremblay.
A tribute to two composers from Quebec who both participated in Expo 67: Otto Joachim, who celebrates his 100th birthday in 2010, composed Katimavik (the first work in Canada to be composed entirely of electronically-generated sounds) for the Canadian Pavillion, and Gilles Tremblay, who is the subject of the SMCQ’s 2010 Homage Series, composed an electronic soundscape, Centre-élan, for the Quebec Pavillion. Both works will be performed and the installation will also include an exhibition of Joachim’s paintings.
Production Circuit dans le cadre de la Série Hommage, présentée durant l’événement Art souterrain de La nuit blanche à Montréal.
