Turangalîla-Symphonie by Olivier Messiaen.

Pre-concert activity, 6:15 pm

The Festival invites itself into the Maison symphonique to present Turangalîla-Symphonie, a monumental XXth century work. Messiaen’s emblematic masterpiece features an immoderately vast and powerful orchestral pallet in novel orchestral mixtures. As for the soloists, they will marvellously illustrate the Surroundings and New Technologies theme, via a virtuoso piano performance that mimics birdsong and the other-worldly sounds of the “ondes Martenot”, the first electronic instrument ever used in a concert.
