On Sunday November 10 at 3:00 pm at the Cinquième Salle, the Ensemble SMCQ and the 8 musicians from Toronto’s Evergreen Club Contemporary Gamelan, joined by musicians from Oktoécho will give a performance as part of the Arab World Festival of Montréal. The concert will add Middle Eastern colours to Indonesian hues, characteristic of the gamelan.
On this occasion Katia Makdissi-Warren and composer Gabriel Evangelista will unveil all-new works for gamelan and Middle Eastern instruments, while two works for gamelan and western instruments from the wide Quebec contemporary repertoire will also be presented
