The Orchestre symphonique de Montréal revisits Sokolović: once again musicians will attack the Montreal composer’s Concerto pour orchestre, originally premiered by the OSM in 2007 at Salle Wilfrid-Pelletier (Place des Arts) and performed during the Orchestra’s tour that year. This time French conductor Stéphane Denève will lead the orchestra in a concert that will also feature time-honoured classics of French modernity and Russian romanticism.

Founded in 1934, the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal has performed at major international venues. It continues to revivify the Montreal public’s engagement with the music of yesterday and today.
The SMCQ has been moving in step with the lively rhythms of new music for over forty-five years. With its regular concert season, its Série hommage (Homage Series), an international festival, and a young listener’s programme, the society has served both as a platform for today’s composers and as a window on creative works for everyone.
