Diabolical dexterity in hand, Julie-Anne Derome will take listeners aback via a full-bodied programme, laced with new technologies. Bending musical sensitivity and prowess to her instruments, Derome is bound to deliver a concert in full-blown technicolor! Taking on the music of the past fifty years, Derome will include signature pieces (Anthèmes II, In Nomine), alongside new discoveries such as Sokolović’s Prélude et Toccate, and Maxime McKinley’s (composer-in-residence for the Chapelle historique du Bon-Pasteur) Territoire Lune.

The SMCQ has been moving in step with the lively rhythms of new music for over forty-five years. With its regular concert season, its Série hommage (Homage Series), an international festival, and a young listener’s programme, the society has served both as a platform for today’s composers and as a window on creative works for everyone.
