Young musicians have Ana cornered! FAMEQ’s wind and guitar ensembles bring together students from all over Quebec for a concert dedicated exclusively to contemporary Québécois music, which will take place during the annual conference of the Fédération des associations de musiciens éducateurs du Québec. Joined throughout the evening by various choirs, young musicians will perform a new work by Sokolović (commissioned by Centre de musique canadienne au Québec, and FAMEQ), as well as music by Jonathan Dagenais, Louis Babin, and André Jutras.

Active in Quebec since 1967, FAMEQ has worked continuously to improve the province’s quality of music education and learning, and to offer support and training for music educators.
The SMCQ has been moving in step with the lively rhythms of new music for over forty-five years. With its regular concert season, its Série hommage (Homage Series), an international festival, and a young listener’s programme, the society has served both as a platform for today’s composers and as a window on creative works for everyone.
