Production Vancouver Symphony Orchestra

Vancouver is tuning into tributes to Sokolović’s music! The Vancouver Symphony Orchestra celebrates Sokolović in concert with Montreal, affording her a choice place in his tribute to Francophone composers. Alongside Sokolović’s music, the VSO will perform works by the Québécois composer Denys Bouliane, and his French counterpart, Tristan Murail: our composers are travelling from sea to sea!

Founded in 1919, the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra is now one of the three largest orchestras in Canada and gives over 150 concerts each year.

Composing in the Present!

The SMCQ has been moving in step with the lively rhythms of new music for almost fifty years. With its regular concert season, its Série hommage (Homage Series), an international festival, and a young listener’s programme, the society has served both as a platform for today’s composers and as a window on creative works for everyone.
