The Sokolović Homage Series moves to Toronto with a few tango steps! This Latin sizzling musical genre will have a place of honour during the concert and will highlight Argentinean singer Roxana Fontàn’s sultry voice, renowned for her tango. The evening will include works by 20th century Argentinian composers and to complement this historic look at the tango, a world premiere by Sokolović to usher in the 21st century.

Soundstreams is an International Centre for New Directions in Music which programs culturally provocative concerts and festivals by weaving together music and ideas from globally diverse genres, artists and eras.
The SMCQ has been moving in step with the lively rhythms of new music for over forty-five years. With its regular concert season, its Série hommage (Homage Series), an international festival, and a young listener’s programme, the society has served both as a platform for today’s composers and as a window on creative works for everyone.
