piano and orchestra

In this work for piano and orchestra, I have sought ways to re-examine the relationship between soloist in orchestra. Many of the more ornate features of a typical piano concerto solo part are noticeably absent. These elements are provided more often than not by the orchestra itself, whereas the piano usually punctuates the most fundamental and important material. The solo part is, in a word, the linchpin of the texture as a whole.
