Composed in 1904 by V. Kineya Kangoro. Rare dance Shima no Senzai is one of the most refined auspicious Naga-uta shamisen piece. Often performed on New Year’s Day or happy occasions. Nyoden Otsuki wrote this poem, inspired from pictorial art on a fan of one sacred crane dancing around on a rock in the ocean. This dance depicts a delicate figure of sacred crane, dancing against the golden sun-rising above the horizon of the ocean, this means, wishing good luck and many happiness to you.
