Among the people who founded the Société de musique contemporaine du Québec (SMCQ), there was Maryvonne Kendergi, an exceptional woman, a great communicator who knew how to make musical creation shine with passion. Pianist, musicographer, host at Radio-Canada and professor at the Université de Montréal, she played a major role in the development of the SMCQ and contemporary music in Québec.
