Jean-Guy Boisvert’s enthusiastic approach to new music has led to hundreds of commissions ranging from miniature works to concertos. Among the most recent ones: Je vous ai vue rêver by Isabelle Panneton, Alas my love by François-Hugues Leclair premiered with the Tesla string quartet, La belle aventure, a collection of 150 short works for the learning clarinetists by 20 composers from all regions of Canada published by Doberman-Yppan, and a group of 6 poetic sonatas to be premiered in 2022-24. His most recent recording features by Richard Gibson’s Scènes hivernales, Nicolas Gilbert’s 7 Pieces, François-Hugues Leclair’s Visages de la paix op 52, Alain Perron’s 6 Hexagones and La belle aventure, part 1 (29 solo pieces). A graduate of theConservatoire de musique de Trois-Rivières, the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and Université de Montréal, Jean-Guy Boisvert has had the privilege to be guided by Suzan Stephens on choreographic works by Karlheinz Stockhausen.
