Véronique Brousseau-Couture obtained in 2005 a Master’s degree in Music performance from University of Montréal, supervised by Lise Daoust, for which she was appointed on the prestigious Dean’s list of honor. During her studies, she catches definitively the sting for contemporary musical creation, by participating actively in the workshop conducted by Lorraine Vaillancourt, as well as by performing the world premiere of works by Hugues Leclair, Sylvie Boudreau and Mélik-Alexandre Farhat. She received grants from FQRSC and CALQ, which allowed her to perfect her art with Pierre-Yves Artaud, Robert Dick, Patrick Gallois and Kathinka Pasveer. She also studied improvisation with Marilyn Crispell, Lori Freedman and Nicole Mitchell within the Vancouver Creative Music Institute 2006. Eclectic and curious, she is involved in numerous musical projects of varied aesthetics, such as the improvisation duet Le Kiosque à pattes, and collaborated to several video-music works. She recently collaborated with the duo Traces, formed by Guy Pelletier and Julien Grégoire, for the event 2 X 4 II.
