A graduate of the national conservatory in Lyon (1994) where she worked with Yvan Chiffoleau, Valérie Dulac later perfected her art over a two-year period in masterclasses for string trio with the Fine Arts Quartet and in Paris. Principal cellist with the Ensemble Orchestral Contemporain directed by Daniel Kawka, Dulac performs both in France and abroad, at concerts and festivals as both a soloist and chamber player (string quartet, trio, sonata, and cello ensemble). She has also appeared with the Orchestre National de Lyon, the Opéra National de Lyon, and the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio-France. Aside from contemporary music, Dulac also devotes part of her professional life to early music, performing with various Baroque and Medieval ensembles, including Concert de l’Hostel Dieu, Musica Nova, Poli’sons, Musica Paëlica, and Ensemble Matheus.
