Performer (violin)

Lizann Gervais completed her bachelor’s or Superieur I degree in April 2005, and her recital earned her a McAbbie Foundation scholarship; in April 2007 she was unanimously selected for the Prix du Conservatoire. In 2005, she was granted a full scholarship to study under Pinchas Zukerman and Grigory Kalinovsky as part of the Young Artist Program.She also played in a master class for Paul Kantor as part of the Jeunesses Musicales International Competition, with Gil Shaham, Vadim Repin, Calvin Sieb and Jacques Israelievitch. In 2007, along with violinist Clemens Merkel, she performed a piece by Luigi Nono at a festival paying tribute to the composer’s life work. Lizann is a member of three ensembles, Chorum, Allogène and MMcircle, which perform several styles of music from contemporary to jazz to baroque. Lizann is currently honing her skills under Denise Lupien at the Schulich School of Music of McGill University.
