Performer (soprano)

Quebec’s Magali Simard-Galdès is acclaimed for her magnetic stage persona and crystal-clear tone through a wide range of repertoire, with a particular affinity for baroque and contemporary music. Despite the Covid-19 pandemic, her 2020-2021 season was marked by her German debut in George Benjamin’s Written on Skin (Agnès) and online concerts with Arion Orchestre Baroque and l’dOrchestre symphonique de Québec. In 2021-22, she joins Barbara Hannigan’s Equilibrium Artists, makes her debut with the Houston Symphony and the National Arts Centre in Handel’s Messiah, and performs Jean Lesage’s Trois méditations sur la vie céleste de Charles G. with the SMCQ. In her 2022-2023 season, she will reunite with Isabelle David for a recital at the Chapelle historique du Bon-Pasteur, and will be a soloist in Britten’s Les Illuminations and Handel’s Ode for the Birthday of Queen Anne.
