Louise Bessette and Lise Daoust perform works by Arcuri, Arseneault, Berio, Boulez, Collard, Saariaho, Scelsi and Vivier.

The SMCQ is pleased to offer you the opportunity to attend an intimate evening overflowing with the talent of two of the greatest contemporary music performers, who have been working together for more than fifteen years. Clarity, elegance, sensuality, serenity, subtlety and virtuosity are only some of the words that can be used to describe performances by these generous and unforgettable artists.

Louise Bessette is a highly sought-after musician for events that span the European and North American continents. She has contributed to the dissemination and advancement of new music by a marked participation at major international festivals and by premiering works that have been composed especially for her by a number of composers.

Lise Daoust also devotes an equal amount of time to the performance of classic repertoire for the instrument as well as teaching. A professor regularly invited to the International Symposium at Domaine Forget since 1981, and to the Banff Music Centre in 2003, she is also an Associate Professor and Associate Dean of Performance Studies at the Université de Montréal’s faculty of music.
