Crossing the Steppes and Deserts… Claude Vivier is far from taking his final journey! La Nef has lined up a version of Pulau Dewata for flutes, percussionists, and strings using non-traditional techniques, all for a programme given over to new music inspired by the Central Asian steppes and the great deserts of the world. Fascinated by Asia, which was the source of inspiration for several of his works, Claude Vivier would certainly be overjoyed to hear Pulau Dewata embarked on such a voyage. Let’s share this posthumous pleasure with him!
