On June 3rd, 2000, the Société de Musique Contemporaine du Québec (SMCQ) presented a unique event in the history of music: the Symphonie du millénaire (Millennium Symphony), a work that brought together 19 composers, 333 musicians and 2000 bell ringers at Montreal’s Saint Joseph’s Oratory. Ten years later, the maestro for this mega project, Walter Boudreau, revisits this grand adventure while original performers from the 2000 event Gilbert Patenaude and Les Petits Chanteurs du Mont-Royal perform excerpts from a work composed for the occasion by Gilles Tremblay. This composer is the featured artist for this year’s Série Hommage (Tribute Series).
