Works by Gougeon, Labé, Palmieri and Rea.
The Homage Series dedicated to John Rea beats to butterfly wings with his emblematic work Homme papillon! This opening Homage Series concert performed by the SMCQ Ensemble directed by Walter Boudreau, stops us in our tracks via a realistic “butterfly effect.” An evening that shifts from one “Homage” composer to the next, with Denis Gougeon’s Clere Vénus, featuring his muse, Marie-Danielle Parent. Last, but not least, the premiere of Silvio Palmieri’s Ossessione (Poema Concertante).
Preceeded by a vernissage of the Musique vue exposition (5:30 pm) and a round-table discussion with John Rea (6:15 pm). And followed by an second concert, Éclat / Multiples, by Nouvel ensemble moderne (9 pm).
