Works by Breault, Hyland, Lizotte and Makdissi-Warren.
From one flute to another… Conceived by Marie-Hélène Breault and focusing works by composer Katia Makdissi-Warren, this programme plunges you into a mysterious universe with lyrical and meditative sounds. The modern flute is imbued with the breath and colours of the nay (a reed flute played in Arab, Turkish and Persian music), as a dozen musicians engage in a dialogue cleverly blending Western and Eastern influences. Works for harp and voice will complete this invitation to conclude the season on a peaceful note.
Post concert roundtable discussion with the composers animated by Georges Nicholson.
