An unforgettable musical experience where nature meets human feelings!

Featuring the trans-traditional aesthetics of composer Sandeep Bhagwati, this concert revolves around his piece RASAS (Ritual and Sophisticated Areas of Sound), in which the musicians follow a musical path guided by different human emotions.

In the Indian artistic tradition, the “Rasas” consist of a system for classifying the emotions that form the basic components of all artistic manifestations. In this work, Sandeep Bhagwati has developed 64 sections within a matrix, which can be arranged in various combinations. Before each performance, the performers choose a combination and, through their unique arrangement, offer a different interpretation of the piece each time. Recalling the thought of the great Quebec composer Gilles Tremblay, who said, “A bird never sings the same way twice”.

The program will be rounded out by three works by up-and-coming composers. French composer Daphné Hejebri explores the energy circulating in a colorful, kaleidoscopic space, while Franco-Ontarian Thierry Tidrow plays playfully with the emotions hidden behind each musical chord. New Brunswick’s Sophie Dupuis, meanwhile, takes us on a voyage into marine soundscapes.

A concert of discoveries and thrills!
