50 years of music creation in Quebec
February 18-26, 2011, Montréal will host the 5th international Montréal/Nouvelles Musiques festival (MNM), presented by the SMCQ in collaboration with several local, national, and international ensembles and institutions. This nine-day music marathon will feature 20 concerts, 2 conferences, and various installations and exhibitions. The theme this year is “Music in Movement / 50 years of music creation in Quebec,” and dance and images will play a key part in the event, which will also celebrate the 50th anniversary of the “Semaine internationale de musique actuelle” held in 1961 and seen today as the first major contemporary music event in Quebec.
Don’t miss it!
Schedule details for MNM 2011 will be unveiled in January.
