How to raise awareness among our musical successors about the works of today’s creators? This is the challenge that the Prix collégien de musique contemporaine is trying to meet by proposing an exciting activity that takes place in the CEGEPs and conservatories of the province. Each year, this musical prize is awarded to their favorite contemporary Quebec work by students enrolled in courses of modern and contemporary musical history. To participate in this competition, the associate composers of the Canadian Music Centre are invited to present a complete work, a movement or an excerpt of a suite before November 30 2012.

This activity is an initiative of the music department of Sherbrooke CEGEP in partnership with CMC-Québec, the SQRM and with the collaboration of the SMCQ.
