We are happy to announce that the next edition of the Homage Series (2019-20) will be dedicated to the composer Katia Makdissi-Warren, chosen for the quality, diversity and scope of her work, in addition to her openness to music of various traditional genres. Cultural and educational milieus are invited to devote a place to her during their season, to make known and give recognition to the importance to her work.
The SMCQ wishes to salute the exceptional approach of this eclectic and innovative artist, who meets, with sensitivity, the challenge of eliminating the frontiers between contemporary Western, Native American and Middle Eastern music.
