À François Bayle, l’ami et compagnon de ces années musicales

Following experimentation with various types of writing, allowing the notion of “sonic nature” to rise to the surface, I had the desire to the world so generously endowed with both “natural,” and what I will call “artificial (due to human activity)” noises. Noises indicate the presence of life, either near or far, in space or in time. Natural sounds often prove powerfully seductive, a force, a dynamic energy that escapes us, but which I have attempted to exorcize through internal listening. Capturing these sounds increases our ability to understand the course of their existence. Thus it is possible to transmute sonic matter by listening to it, through performances and other forms of expression.
