flute, cello and piano
Corranach is the Scottish Gaelic term for a dirge or a wailing lament for the dead. This music is not meant to portray sorrow, but rather the memory of sorrow after its cause has almost been forgotten. Corranach was commissioned by the Trio Phoenix, with the assistance of the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec. It was premiered in Manchester (England) on March 14, 2002.
