four-hand piano tuned in 16th tones

Lithographies is a series of two four-hand pieces written for a piano tuned in sixteenth tones: Deux âmes sous la brume des pierres and Deux âmes encrées à la plume des pierres. Both works, in a way, are studies. In the first study the pitch material is structured around thirty-nine different modes, all of which contain the note F. The second study uses more traditional techniques such as harmonic progressions and canons applied to a 16th-tone scale.
