2 sopranos and 2 cellos

Canto di Beatrice makes use of some of the words which Dante has Beatrice and Matilda say in a number of passages before the end of the Purgatorio.

In his confusion, Dante gives the impression of not being always sure who is speaking to him, and so in my composition, one hears the voices of the two women; the "divine" voice of Beatrice is rendered by the fusion of the two. Not only does Beatrice speak to the angels about Dante but she also scolds him for having forgotten her and for having given himself to others.
