Amanda Stewart is an Australian poet, vocalist and composer/performer. She has created a diverse range of publications and performances working in music, literature, broadcasting, sound poetry, theatre, film, dance and new media environments. Stewart frequently incorporates aspects of her poetic practice within her work in composition, improvisation and extended vocal technique and is also interested in exploring noise, instability and the use of simultaneous scores. She has toured and worked extensively in Australia, Europe and the US, receiving a number of grants and awards including composition commissions from Music Viva, the Bayerischer Rundfunk, Donaueschinger Musiktage, Wittener Tage Festival for New Chamber Music, an Åke Blomström Award, UN Association of Australia Media Peace Prize and the Anne Elder Poetry Prize. She is a co-founder of the Australian ensembles Machine For Making Sense and 180º and the Netherlands trio, Allos.

Amanda contributed a work to the Drawn from Sound exhibition and performance in 2013-14.
